The 2019 RAM 1500 is available in seven different trims: Tradesman, HFE, Big Horn, Rebel, Laramie, Longhorn, and Limited. This is a big change from previous years, when RAM offered nearly a dozen trim options.
The Tradesman and HFE trims are more designed for work situations than for consumers. The Tradesman trim is a bare-bones model meant for construction work, ranch work and other industrial uses. The HFE is the most fuel-efficient version of the RAM 1500, making it ideal for commercial fleets.
The RAM 1500 Big Horn is designed as the go-to choice for most consumers. The RAM 1500 Big Horn gets several additional comfort and convenience features, and it gets some extra styling flourishes. It doesn't have the luxury features of the higher-end trims, but it is a solid choice.
The RAM 1500 Rebel is built for sporty driving. It comes with off-road tires, can be upgraded with steel coil springs, features off-road tires, has a unique suspension and all kinds of other off-road perks.
The RAM 1500's most luxurious trims are the Laramie, Longhorn and Limited trims. Climb inside the redesigned interior with these trims, and you'll get a 12.0-inch touchscreen, plush leather upholstery, wood trim, climate control features, heated seats and so much more. It's a bold, elegant cabin with plenty of soft-touch materials.
The new RAM gets a new 305-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 mild-hybrid engine that regenerates power through starting, stopping and braking. There are also two available 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engines, one of which is a mild-hybrid engine.
The 2019 RAM 1500 can tow up to 12,750 pounds when properly configured. That's not the biggest towing capacity on the market, but it's very close to competiting trucks like the Ford F-150.
